BIG SHIPPING CHANGES ARE AFOOT!
We are making some more serious shipping changes around here at Golden Prime, and we wanted to make you aware of them and also fill you in a bit on why we’re doing what we’re doing.
5% FFA – Effective with all orders placed after 12:01AM PST on 1 September, we will be changing our free shipping offer to a Free Freight Allowance (FFA) of up to 5% of the order value.
WHAT’S THAT? Basically, we will continue to pay for most of your shipping charges, except in certain cases. For most orders, there will be no change as to before and we will cover all shipping costs! However, on certain orders where the shipping costs are very expensive, we will charge an amount for shipping that is in excess of the 5% FFA.
BUT WHY: In an effort to establish a sustainable business model, we’ve decided this would be the best option available. Plain and simple.
WHAT WILL CHANGE: The actual cost to us of shipping your order will appear at the bottom of each invoice, so you can see for yourself the costs involved. Under that, you’ll see your contribution to the shipping costs. For example, if you place a $1000 order, and your shipping cost is $43.18, your FFA will cover the entire shipping cost (FREE!) as per usual. If your shipping cost is, say, $53.18, your FFA covers the first $50, so you’d pay only $3.18 for shipping.
According to our numbers, your cost usually won’t be very much, if anything, UNLESS your order contains bigger, heavier items such as “cinder block” board games, huge paint racks, big fluffy boxes of pluck foam, and the like. Sadly, this will also impact our East Coast customers more than it will those elsewhere, as this is a big country and it costs a lot to ship from one edge to the other.
I DON'T LIKE CHANGE...
We know change can feel rough, and in some cases it is – and we aren’t happy about needing to seem them made. However, we want to be completely open and honest with you about why these changes are necessary, and help you understand the reasoning behind them. We would be nothing without you, our valued customers, and so we are always open to suggestions or critiques of our work and how we can do better for you. We hope these steps help us serve you that much better!
